Hip-hop culture began to develop in the south Bronx area of New York City during the 1970s. It had a significant influence in the music industry. Hip-hop music generally includes rapping, but other elements such as sampling and beatboxing also play important roles. Rapping, as a key part in the hip-hop music, takes different forms, which including signifying, dozen, toast and jazz poetry. Initially, hip-hop music was a voice of people living in low-income areas, reflecting social, economic and political phenomenon in their life [1]. As time moves on, hip-hop music reached its â€Å"golden age†, where it became a mainstream music, featuring diversity, quality, innovation and influence [2]. Sampling is one of the most common elements in the h ip-hop music. Sampling is the act of using recordings of other music in making new music. In the hip-hop music history, sampling is always a controversial topic legally and musically since sampling relates to the issue of the copyright of the music. Does sampling violate the other musicians’ copyright? Does sampling threaten the innovation of the music? Those questions are the most sensitive debates about sampling. Sampling begins in mid-1970s, when DJs mixed between particular parts of records, especially the breakdowns, to inspire dancers in the party. The technique, such as spinning and scratching the record while it played, can be considered as an early form of sampling in hip-hop music. In the mid-1980s, the primary use of â€Å"sampling† as a basis of the beat is a main shift in production. â€Å"La Di Da Di† produced by Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh is probably the most sampled song in hip-hop. The plethora of problems generated from the credit crisis that emerged during 2007-2010 presented stern challenges for the FSA which are prevailing even today. Some of the issues that have had a significant impact in derailing the regulation mechanism of FSA in recent times are those mainly concerned with Enforcement, Financial Frauds, Investment Banking and Savings. The reckless banking during the credit crisis along with the subprime mortgage catastrophe gratified the problems resulting in augmented unemployment and contracting housing markets. Though the FSA did make efforts to tackle the setbacks, but the credit crisis proved out to be such a colossal and unpredictable one, that not only FSA, but regulatory bodies around the world were unable to calculate it. Currently, it is believed that the crisis has diluted, but its aftershocks might continue to create difficulties for FSA in the future. Moreover, FSA’s splitting into PRA and FCA in coming times might bring unseen challenges which would need to be dealt with redefined regulatory framework and objectives, placing safeguard of the financial system as the highest priority. In my view, the most important issue for FSA currently is related to Enforcement. FSA has been criticized from a few quarters for having a weak enforcement program that enables frauds. The FSA needs to take strong measures to deal with it so that it is able to set a prime example. The measures should include imposing penalties, prohibitions and fines, carrying out extensive inquiries, cooperating with other regulatory bodies to share information and going to court when matters intensify and become uncontrollable. There is no harm in seeking the route to the court for market abuse and inside dealing affairs, especially after FSA’s recent success in two such cases. The aim should be to exert pressure through legal means on the guilty party that violates rules or the provisions of the FSA. In this manner, FSA would not only be able to strengthen its enforcement approach but also enhance its reputation in the market. Another issue of importance that FSA currently faces is regarding its policies with respect to regulations of banks, Investment banking and savings. The critiques argue that in the past few years, FSA has not been able to deal adequately with the wider banking structure and also the examining of larger and more intricate banks. It is also said that FSA’s capital requirements for banks are quite lenient. In order to cope with this critical issue, I believe that as Financial Services Authority (2011) states, the current measure of forming three divisions of PBU is a very apt step to delegate responsibility and ensure focused work. The need of the hour is to carry out a rigorous and across the board scanning of existing banking regulations and devise fresh and strict regulations which rule out the possibility of unauthorized transactions and also ensure that banks do not conceal their savings. The term ‘beginner’ tends to strike fear into the hearts of inexperienced teachers. The teacher needs to distinguish what kind of beginner the student falls into. Remember to take into account that a student can fall into more than one of the categories mentioned. There are various methodology and techniques for teaching beginners which require special skills and psychology. For example, the teacher needs to be aware of the students needs with a clear and realistic aim. Do not try to do too much. Remember to adapt to the situation, and to be as visual as possible. Use of gestures and visual aids adds interest and reduce the need for further verbal explanation. Pacing the lesson with frequent group or pair activities along with a lot of homework is effective when teaching beginners. The teacher can also face some problems when teaching beginners. Like how to help a student who is falling behind the others, or getting through a lesson sooner than expected, and students who seem not to be interested in learning English at all. These are all hypothetical situations, but all teachers are bound to come across a situation like this sooner or later. I was reluctant at first, but I have come across these situations. When I had students who were shy or nervous in class, I solved the situation by pairing the student with someone who is more active and talkative. I believe it helps motivate the weaker student and builds rapport. If I get through a lesson sooner than expected then I would re-review the lesson taught and maybe do a quick activity from the top of my head. If a student just do not seem motivated or interested in learning English I would ask the student some questions with an answer the student would know and give compliments to boost his self steem. With this I would hope to increase his interest in learning English. Also, remember to stay calm. Just because something unexpected has happened during a lesson does not mean that it is the end of the world. From my experience, the activity that is going to be used is very important in getting your lesson through to the students. Remember, it is not how you start, but how you finish. I have had classes that started slow in the beginning and ended well in the end and vise versa. From the feedbacks from one of my students, she said, â€Å"I like it better when we have fun towards the end of the class. † The student said that leaving the class in a high spirited and enthusiastic feeling made her anticipate for the next session. When I say activities, I do not mean a simple crossword or a word jumble worksheet. The teacher needs to take the next step and put some creativity into the activity so the students will appreciate the effort that has been put into it. There are various other activities like Pictionary, Mime activity, Role playing a certain scenario, etc. Teaching beginners requires effort from the teacher as well as the student for the lesson to be effective.
